Youssouf Fofana set for delayed exit after West Ham United transfer bid
AS Monaco manager Thiago Scuro has stated that Youssouf Fofana may not leave the club until 2025 despite a recent West Ham United bid.
Corriere dello Sport reported on 30 July that the Irons have made a £29.5million bid for the midfielder, who would prefer a move to AC Milan.
The Hammers have been on the lookout for midfielders to bolster their ranks this summer but it looks like Fofana won’t be that option due to the Frenchman’s preference to play elsewhere.
Scuro said: “It is a possibility that he will stay and that he will be free to leave in 2025.”
West Ham United need to set sights away from Youssouf Fofana
It seems like a common occurrence from this transfer window is that a Hammers target would prefer to play football elsewhere.
This first happened with Nice ace Jean Clair-Todibo who actually rejected West Ham’s offer [Sky Italy, 24 July] in order to try to force a move to Juventus.
The club has found themselves in quite a precarious position in terms of recruitment this season.
As they only managed to finish in ninth place, they failed to qualify for any sort of European football which gives the side quite a difficult task to entice into joining the club.

Max Kilman is arguably the biggest of names to arrive at the London Stadium this transfer window but Wolves finished below West Ham in the Premier League table so his choice to join wasn’t all that surprising.
Whilst there are other targets that Julen Lopetegui can pursue for the midfield position before the Premier League season starts, the Spaniard might be better off focusing on other areas of his team such as striker.
Only time will tell what further arrivals will occur at the London Stadium this summer.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers may have found their perfect Jean Clair-Todibo alternative.
