Wolves line up late deal to sign Yuri Alberto after forward snubbed West Ham United manager David Moyes
Wolves are lining up a late deal to sign Corinthians forward Yuri Alberto after he was previously linked with a move to West Ham, according to the Telegraph.
The newspaper reported on its website on Wednesday (31 January) that the Brazilian international has emerged as a “serious target” for the Hammers’ Premier League rivals after they have proposed a loan move to sign him this month.
It added that the Brazilian club’s officials claimed that the 22-year-old turned down the opportunity to join David Moyes’ team last summer.
Strange
It would be a strange move for Alberto to join Wolves on loan after previously turning down the chance to play European football with West Ham.
Although things can change quickly in football, you would think he would want to make the switch to a team challenging for a spot in Europe this season to aid his hopes of gaining more international recognition.
While the Hammers certainly need another forward player, the Brazilian clearly wouldn’t have been the right option in the summer if he wasn’t keen on making the switch to the London Stadium.

Perhaps the number of Portuguese-speaking players could persuade him to make the temporary move to Molineux, where he should get the opportunity to play plenty of minutes.
For the Irons, though, it would be good to see us get a move for a forward player over the line before the deadline passes to help us manage a potentially busy next few months.
