Wolfsburg discussing ‘several scenarios’ as Niclas Fullkrug edges closer to West Ham exit

Niclas Fullkrug is expected to depart West Ham, with Wolfsburg one of the numerous teams linked with the striker.

West Ham are set for a shakeup in the January transfer window as Nuno Espirito Santo looks to bring in his own players.

However, departures are expected, with Fullkrug likely to leave the London Stadium after a torrid time at the Hammers.

The German striker has barely featured under Nuno and has continued to struggle with injuries.

Now, Wolfsburg are exploring multiple different options to bring the attacker back to the Bundesliga.

Wolfsburg considering loan move for Niclas Fullkrug

With West Ham already eyeing up strikers ready for the January transfer window, Fullkrug’s departure in the new year feels inevitable.

Multiple clubs are interested in the attacker despite his terrible form and injury record.

AC Milan are surprisingly linked with Fullkrug as he looks to get his season back on track, ready for the 2026 World Cup.

Now, WAZ/AZ on 26 November has confirmed that Wolfsburg are still in the race for the attacker.

Despite searching for a new sporting director, “several scenarios” are being discussed on how they can bring Fullkrug to the club.

One possibility is a loan move, with another option being a permanent deal where Wolfsburg pay part of the fee immediately, and the rest in the summer.

On top of this, Stuttgart, Hoffenheim and Lazio are all believed to be interested in the striker.

Fullkrug’s record at West Ham

As it stands, Fullkrug has an awful record at the Hammers.

To date, he has only netted three times in 28 matches, while only picking up two assists.

This is his worst record at any club by far, with it being clear that his move to England simply has not worked out.

Hopefully, both parties can quickly move on in January, as it would appear that would be best for everyone.
