Jarrod Bowen will be feeling the pressure at West Ham with the transfer window closed.

The English winger was linked with a move away in the lead up to the summer window, but opted to stay and fight for the Irons' promotion.

Anything other than promotion this season for the Hammers will ultimately be deemed a failure.

So, Nuno Espirito Santo certainly has a lot on his plate and while pressure is building on the manager, the players will be no different.

Whether or not many in this West Ham side can take that pressure in their stride and convert it into something positive remains to be seen.

But there is one reason why Bowen will be under more than most.

However, as captain and the Irons' star man, the weight of the world will certainly be on the 29-year-old's shoulders.

If West Ham are to get promoted, they will need the England international to step up and turn that pressure into motivation.

Carrying West Ham on his shoulders should not be an issue for Bowen, though, as he has stepped up many times before.

The English centre-back has not had the best career at London Stadium so far, and has often been under scrutiny for his performances.

It does feel like this season in the Championship is his last roll of the dice in E20.

In a similar sense, Pablo has not been great since his winter move to East London.

The Brazilian forward has struggled so far in a West Ham kit, with the fee splashed out for him looking more and more questionable.

Academy graduate Lewis Orford is also under pressure to imprint his name on the squad, especially after a few early starts in the 2026-2027 season.

While Soungoutou Magassa will be feeling the heat following the transfer window after failing to secure a move away.

After the midfielder wanted to leave, pressure from fans for him to put that behind him will be lingering.

Additionally, the 22-year-old may need to perform well should he still want to get a top move away in the future.
