West Ham United have entered the race to sign Tommy Watson from Brighton.

The Hammers are yet to bring any fresh faces to the London Stadium after relegation.

There have been plenty of rumours surrounding the claret and blue outfit, but no confirmed deals as of yet.

That appears to be grating on Nuno Espirito Santo as he continues to identify targets.

The Brighton winger appears to be one of those after a spell on loan at Millwall last season.

He could now be set to swap the Lions for the Irons as West Ham eye a swoop for the 20-year-old in the Championship.

What move does Tommy Watson want?

The England under-20 international hasn't truly kicked on since joining Brighton last summer.

He scored the play-off final winner for Sunderland to send them to the Premier League with his final touch for the Mackems.

The winger hasn't hit those same heights ever since, even after moving to The Den in January.

Watson is now back on the south coast, but could be set for a loan move elsewhere.

The Sunderland Echo reported on Saturday that West Ham are interested in signing him on loan.

West Brom, Leicester City, Hull City and Derby County are all in the race for his signature as the forward and his representatives face "a major decision" over his next move.

The report outlines that those close to the player are keen for the attacker to play regularly wherever he moves to this summer.

Their priority is said to be "finding an environment where Watson can build rhythm, confidence and consistency" throughout a full season.

The Hammers could offer that sort of space for the wide man to develop as they look to secure promotion straight back to the Premier League.

Crysencio Summerville now lined up for left-field West Ham exit as new option emerges on the table

Watson could be earmarked as Crysencio Summerville replacement

There are plenty of big decisions that still need to be made in East London this summer.

With Mateus Fernandes already gone, attention will now turn to Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville.

The latter has been strongly linked with an exit as Manchester United have targeted him.

Should a move elsewhere become likely, it could make sense for Watson to be the replacement this summer.

The Englishman has Championship experience and after a dry spell at Millwall, will be keen to prove a point in claret and blue.

It could prove to be a deal that suits all parties, but only if the Hammers can offer him the guaranteed minutes he's after.
