West Ham United have been on the lookout for attacking reinforcements all summer.

Nuno Espirito Santo hasn't been shy about voicing his frustration in the transfer market

He has now added Joel Veltman, Manor Solomon and Arne Engels to his squad, but isn't done there.

It is clear that the Hammers need increased levels of depth after their Championship opener against Burnley.

Attacking areas need that almost as much as anywhere else.

West Ham have been linked with various strikers and are now learning the final outcome of multiple pursuits.

Will West Ham sign Troy Parrott or Jamie Vardy?

There is plenty of excitement at the London Stadium as Taty Castellanos looks set to stick around for the campaign.

He grabbed two in the Carabao Cup as he started the season on the perfect note.

That hasn't stopped the Irons from being linked with other strikers, with Troy Parrott and Jamie Vardy emerging as true targets.

The Republic of Ireland international represented a massively exciting potential addition, while the ex-Leicester star had the chance to add some much-needed experience to this Hammers side.

It is now seemingly clear that the Irons won't push to seal deals for either as Joel Piroe looks set to come in instead.

That is the verdict of Alex Crook who reported live via talkSPORT on Tuesday.

He said: "It's becoming difficult, there's a lot of interest in Troy Parrott from clubs in Europe that can offer European football. It was always going to be a tall order for West Ham.

"Vardy, likewise, has got plenty of offers on the table, including that intriguing one from Sao Paulo. Piroe is going to have his medical today, that suggests that the Vardy deal to West Ham won't happen."

That may serve as frustration to many supporters in East London, but the Leeds United man still represents a boost.

When could West Ham announce Joel Piroe signing?

There has been contrasting opinions in E20 as supporters remain uncertain on the Suriname international.

That isn't going to put brakes on a deal as a move is accelerating towards completion.

Reports emerged throughout Monday that Piroe is expected in London to undergo his medical with West Ham on Tuesday.

His contract is yet to be signed, but it appears that personal terms have already been agreed between the two parties.

That could see a deal be announced as early as Tuesday, although confirmation may wait until Wednesday or later in the week.

It may not appease those fans who wanted Parrott or Vardy, but gives Piroe a perfect chance to prove any doubters wrong.
