West Ham want to sign league-leading Leif Davis in Ipswich Town transfer raid as David Moyes priority emerges
West Ham United want to bring Ipswich Town left-back Leif Davis to the London Stadium, according to The Football League Paper.
The publication reported in its print version on Sunday (page 8, 21 January) that the Hammers retain a long-standing interest in the player.
The Football League Paper added that the East London club have prioritised signing a left-back in the January transfer window.
League leader
Ipswich ace Davis is really enjoying his football this season, playing a key role at both ends of the pitch as the Tractor Boys seek promotion to the Premier League.
As per BBC Sport, only Southampton forward Adam Armstrong (11) has more assists than Davis (10) in the current Championship campaign.
Impressively, the latter has played four matches fewer than the former, and leads the way for defenders, showing just how impressive he has been in the final third this season.
It is, of course, a lower standard than the Premier League, but that attacking prowess should be enough to convince David Moyes that Davis is capable of making the step up to the big time.
Ipswich will undoubtedly be reluctant to lose their star left-back at this crucial stage of the season, but they could be helpless in preventing him from leaving should they receive a lucrative offer.

Emerson is currently doing a fine job in that area at the London Stadium, but with Aaron Cresswell looking likely to leave in the very near future, Moyes will be keen on another left-back.
With a small crisis in the final third, a new striker perhaps should be the priority for West Ham this month, but supporters would certainly not say no to a pursuit of Davis.
