West Ham want to sign ‘genius’ Ibrahim Maza amid £8m transfer twist
West Ham United are keeping tabs on Ibrahim Mazza, who could cost the Hammers £8million, according to the Sunday Mirror.
The new outlet reports in its print edition [24 November, pg 69] that the Irons are one of the teams tracking the Hertha Berlin youngster with “genius” potential and expect his market value to “rocket”.
Premier League rivals Newcastle, Southampton, Wolves and Leicester also have the 19-year-old attacking midfielder on their radar, whose current contract expires in 2027.
West Ham United must pounce on Ibrahim Maza
Maza has broken into the German outfit’s first team this season, scoring five goals and providing three assists in all competitions for them.
While the Algerian is plying his trade in the second division, he’s shown a lot of promise and was handed his international debut earlier this year.
West Ham are struggling at the moment, with Julen Lopetegui under pressure after a poor start to the season.
The Spaniard hasn’t really counted on the young guns in the squad this season, and with the 58-year-old in charge, the attacking midfielder would be justified to have doubts about joining the Hammers in the coming future.

But Lopetegui’s time in the Irons’ dugout seems to be on the cusp of ending, with the East London club holding internal discussions during the international break about their managerial situation [The Guardian, 20 November].
Maza is expected to make it all the way to the top, but whether that will be at the London Stadium remains to be seen.
In other West Ham news, Lopetegui wants to reunite with one of his former stars to save his job.
