Graham Potter wants a new midfielder at West Ham before the transfer window closes on 1 September.

This summer, El Hadji Malick Diouf, Mads Hermansen, Kyle Walker-Peters and Callum Wilson have arrived at the London Stadium.

West Ham are still in the hunt for new signings as they aim to finish in the top half of the Premier League and potentially challenge for a European spot.

Ivan Ilic under consideration by the Hammers

Ivan Ilic spent three years on the books at Manchester City, but did not make a single appearance for them.

The Serbia international is now plying his trade for Serie A side Torino, where he has taken his career to the next level.

West Ham, in their quest to sign a new midfielder, are considering a move for the 24-year-old.

The Guardian reported on 21 August that he is among a number of players the Hammers are looking at ahead of the deadline.

West Ham must bring Ivan Ilic to the London Stadium

Ilic could prove a transformative signing for West Ham as they aim to strengthen their midfield for the Premier League season.

The 24-year-old brings versatility and dynamism, capable of operating as a box-to-box or defensive midfielder, a trait that aligns with Potter's tactical flexibility.

If he can be signed under £20million, the 21-cap Serbia international represents a shrewd investment and it remains to be seen if the Hammers test Torino's resolve with a bid.

His youth and international experience with Serbia add long-term value, while his work rate could bolster the London Stadium outfit.

Securing the former Manchester City midfielder's services could elevate their squad and help them in their push for European contention.
