West Ham want to sign Emmanuel Dennis this summer – report

West Ham want to sign Emmanuel Dennis from Watford this summer if they are relegated, with the Hornets valuing him at between £20-30m according to The Athletic.

The Nigerian forward has had an excellent debut season in the Premier League, scoring ten goals and registering five assists so far this season.

But with the Hornets looking sure to be relegated down to the Championship, the 25-year-old wants to remain in the top flight and West Ham are a side that have shown interest.

According to The Athletic, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe is interested in signing him although he doesn’t view him as a priority signing.

David Moyes is also said to be interested in a deal this summer, but a senior individual at the club has refused to comment on transfer speculation.

There is also interest from another unnamed Premier League side, plus sides in Italy and Spain too. They say he is ‘almost certain’ to leave this summer if Watford are relegated.

Electric

Dennis has proven to be a shrewd bit of business for Watford, joining from Club Brugge for just £3m last summer and since lighting the league up.

Described as ‘electric’ in the past, Dennis would absolutely suit what West Ham are trying to build and the profile of player that Moyes likes to have in his attacking areas.

He is hard-working, has a good eye for goal, is a good finisher with both feet and his head and is still young enough to be coached and improve.

Playing mainly from the left wing but also up front, his versatility would be a good option for the squad too as Moyes could potentially pair him up with Michail Antonio as a striker or use them in tandem with one from the wings.

He would boost the squads numbers of goals and reduce their reliance on Antonio and Jarrod Bowen in attacking areas, while also providing good value for money in a wild market.
