West Ham United: Wilfried Zaha transfer development at the London Stadium
Wilfried Zaha is facing an “uncertain” future at Turkish league-leaders Galatasaray amid transfer links to West Ham, as a transfer deal could become official shortly, according to Takvim.
The Turkish news outlet reported [21 March] that rumours had heavily linked the star with a move to the London Stadium, but no official word from the club means his future remains up in the air.
It is said that the Hammers’ desire to improve their squad, and Zaha’s willingness to move back to the Premier League, are considered the biggest factors in the agreement.
Could West Ham sign Wilfried Zaha from Galatasaray this summer?
This will be the third transfer window in a row in which the Hammers have been linked with a move to sign Zaha, with the winger reportedly their “top target” last summer, and rumours in January claimed he would be keen on a move back to England.
Links to PSG and Atletico Madrid last summer never materialised, with Zaha making a late move to Turkey and turning down an extension at Palace.
Since the move, he has scored nine goals and picked up three assists in 25 league games, as well as one goal and one assist in the Champions League.
Zaha, now 31 years old, has started just one of Galatasaray’s last seven league games, leading to intense rumours that he could make his return to the Premier League sooner than expected, with West Ham waiting to welcome him.

Given his experience in the Premier League and the outstanding work he did for Crystal Palace, the Ivorian is still highly thought-of in England, but whether his possible wage demands as well as his age prove a hindrance is yet to be seen.
