West Ham United wanted to sign Real Madrid gem Endrick amid new transfer update

West Ham were one of the teams who showed interest in Real Madrid prodigy Endrick during the summer, according to TBR Football.

The online source reported [21 November] that despite a number of interested clubs during the last transfer window, the La Liga giants decided to keep the 18-year-old at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid signed the Brazilian at the age of 16 on a £58million deal [FIFA], finally moving to Spain last summer, and now it is understood that the club still have no interest in loaning the player in January.

West Ham United miss out on Endrick as new transfer update emerges

Signing Endrick on loan would have been a huge gamble given his inexperience in any of the top divisions, but Tim Steidten is known for his South American transfers.

The youngster has only made a handful of appearances for Madrid since moving to Spain during the summer but he is clearly a talented prospect, with more games played for the Brazilian national team.

With only 10 appearances for Madrid so far, Endrick already has 13 international caps and continues to impress everyone with his performance, so Hammers fans will feel they have missed out once again.

Some supporters may even go as far as to say that the wrong Brazilian youngster was brought to the London Stadium, having signed Luis Guilherme for over £25million [BBC Sport].

Julen Lopetegui is clearly lacking options at the striker position, and considering the youth, excitement and talent that Endrick holds, fans have every right to be disappointed not to see a move materialise.

Michail Antonio and Danny Ings have been unable to show any kind of form in the final third while new signing Niclas Fullkrug remains on the treatment table with an ever-growing absence from the pitch.

In other West Ham news, Alan Brazil and Gabby Agbonlahor were baffled as Brendan Rodgers was mooted to replace Julen Lopetegui.
