Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri is wanted by Julen Lopetegui and West Ham United this summer again, according to El Mira.

The Spanish outlet reported that the Hammers will re-ignite their interest in the Moroccan forward, who Sevilla value at over £17million, a "ridiculous" price.

En-Nesyri has plied his trade in Seville since 2020 and is out of contract next season, but having failed to qualify for Europe (like West Ham), Sevilla could be looking to cash in on the 26-year-old this summer.

The Irons also failed to qualify for European football for the first time in four seasons under David Moyes, but the lure of both the Premier League and working alongside Lopetegui is reported to have turned En-Nesyri's head.

West Ham United hunting new striker as transfer priority

West Ham's starting XI could look entirely different to what we've previously seen next season, as Lopetegui puts his stamp on things at the London Stadium.

One area of the pitch all-but guaranteed to see a change-up is the attacking third, with Michail Antonio out of contract and Lucas Paqueta facing a lengthy ban for an FA misconduct charge.

West Ham
Youssef En-Nesyri has scored 72 goals in 193 appearances during his time at Sevilla.

While the Hammers' reported chase of Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy has pitted them against several of Europe's top clubs, they appear to be in pole position to buy En-Nesyri instead, and that's only been helped by the appointment of his former manager in East London.

Past links to Thijs Dallinga have gone quiet, but En-Nesyri has always remained an option for Lopetegui, who could help the Irons to secure the attacking threat of a player who's averaged a goal every two games this season.

A busy summer of transfer business is already well underway at West Ham, and if Lopetegui can add En-Nesyri to his arsenal, he'll have a plethora of options for Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus to combine with up front.
