West Ham United want to sign Youssef En-Nesyri in £17.1m transfer ahead of Aston Villa

West Ham United are interested in signing Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri in a deal worth £17.1m, according to Fichajes.net.

Writing on their website (22 March), the news outlet report that the Spanish club are open to selling the Morocco star this summer as they look to raise funds to bolster their squad.

Aston Villa and Bournemouth are also said to be interested in the 26-year-old forward, with David Moyes known to have held an interest for several transfer windows although a deal has always failed to materialise.

Here we go again

It’s hard to remember the last transfer window that went past where West Ham weren’t linked with a move to sign En-Nesyri, so this is hard to really believe.

However the striker has continued to be strong in La Liga and with his national team, and there is no doubt that the 26-year-old would fit the way David Moyes likes to play too.

He is tall, strong, fast and powerful and his best attributes are his finishing and quality in the air, which would mean he becomes a natural replacement for someone like Michail Antonio in the squad.

The futures of Antonio, Danny Ings and Divin Mubama are all up in the air currently and if all three were to leave the club then it wouldn’t be a surprise and it means the club must invest on a replacement or two.

En-Nesyri would be a tremendous signing and at £17m would represent good value for money. But considering he has turned the move down in the past, he will clearly need some convincing.
