West Ham United want to sign Scott McTominay from Manchester United on loan – ExWHUemployee
West Ham United are interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay on loan if he is made available, according to ExWHUemployee.
The Hammers are in the market for a new midfielder to add depth to the squad and compete for a place alongside Declan Rice with Tomas Soucek and Flynn Downes.
McTominay’s place is said to be under threat after the Red Devils signed Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro in a deal worth an initial £60m, and Ex told the West Ham Way podcast [August 22] that it’s a deal to keep an eye on as the window winds down.

“They’re about to sign Casemiro from Real Madrid, Brazilian international and if they do the Scott McTominay’s position might be under threat,” he said.
“David Moyes really rates the player and spoke about him before the last Euro’s and said he’s one to keep an eye on although he did say that about Alex Kral as well.
“He is one to keep an eye on and I think if he’s available on loan, which it isn’t clear whether he is or not, but if he does suddenly become available on loan I think that’s a signing that we could explore as well.”
Loan
Interest in McTominay makes a lot of sense when you consider the profile of player that Moyes likes, especially when you factor in that he’s Scottish too.
However a loan deal would certainly be a much better deal for us and it’s good to see that West Ham are on the same wavelength when it comes to pursuing a deal.
McTominay would likely cost a large amount because of his status within the squad at Old Trafford, plus his contract and the fact that he’s homegrown, but a loan could work for everyone.
He would provide good competition for Soucek and offer similar threats on and off the ball, while his fitness and mindset is a great fit for the squad that the manager is trying to build at the London Stadium.
There is likely to be plenty of competition for his signature, but Moyes will be confident of attracting him should he be made available and it would be a solid signing to boost the squad which is exactly what is needed.
