West Ham United want to sign Liverpool ace Joe Gomez before 30 August
West Ham United want to sign Liverpool defender Joe Gomez by the 30 August transfer deadline, according to HITC.
The outlet reported on 3 August that several Premier League clubs are interested in the England international, with Aston Villa one of those.
Gomez is ready to seek a move away from the Reds after he was offered as part of a swap deal for Anthony Gordon at Newcastle at the start of July.

This interest isn’t the first time that West Ham has been linked with a move for the former Charlton man.
Last summer the club were regularly linked with the defender in the last summer transfer window but their interest was met to no avail [Neil Jones, 29 August, 2023].
The defender was a key player for the Reds last term, especially whilst the likes of Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold were sidelined with their respective injuries.
And, seen as though Julen Lopetegui has lost the likes of Ben Johnson already this summer, a move for the England international makes sense.
He can play anywhere across the back line with his preferred position seemingly being in centre-back.
However, he was amongst the Reds’ best players last term when used in full-back and really showed his worth to the club.
If Lopetegui manages to add Gomez to his ranks before the 30 August, he’ll have done a stellar job.
