
West Ham United want to sign Jhon Arias as £12.7m Atletico Madrid update emerges
West Ham United are among multiple Premier League sides interested in signing 26-year-old Jhon Arias from Fluminense, according to Argentine journalist Christian Martin.
As quoted by AS Colombia on 11 April, the Colombia forward is looking to transfer to Europe after taking the Brazilian Serie A by storm since his arrival there.
He is said to be “one to watch” ahead of the Copa America in the summer.
Martin said: “[Atletico Madrid manager Diego] Simeone has him in the pipeline as an interested party. Jhon Arias could end up on Los Colchoneros’ team with a value between €15million and €17million (£12.7million and £14.5million).
“West Ham, Burnley, Wolverhampton and Crystal Palace, would also be on the list of suitors.”

With so much interest in the Colombian, there must be something special that all these top teams want to add to their squad.
Arias has scored five goals and assisted two despite in 14 games in all competitions in the current 2024 season, including one goal and two appearances at the Club World Cup in December 2023.
This has helped contribute to his superb output since moving to Brazil where he has 69 goal involvements in 155 appearances.
He is a player with plenty of versatility as he is comfortable playing anywhere across the front line as well as a number 10.
The 26-year-old is proficient at winning free kicks and is also capable of taking them himself. His passing is top quality which allows him to create chances. He is technical with the ball on his feet which sees him take on his man with ease [WhoScored].
With Lucas Paqueta linked with a move to Manchester City, as per BILD, some new attacking talent will be necessary in the summer.

Arias is a positive attacking player who would add some flair and versatility to the Hammers’ squad and will bring excitement to the London Stadium.
