West Ham United want to sign Filip Kostic this summer amid Saudi Arabia transfer interest

West Ham want to sign Juventus winger Filip Kostic this summer in a deal worth up to £12.8m after his stance on a transfer to Saudi Arabia emerged, according to TuttoJuve.

Writing on their website (15 February), the news outlet report that the 31-year-old Serbia international has emerged as a target for Saudi clubs, but the player isn’t interested in a move to the Middle East.

But Juventus are open to letting him leave if they receive a bid of between £8.5-12.8m with both the Hammers and Everton interested in the left-sided player.

“Filip Kostic would not be attracted by the experience in Arabia,” they wrote.

“The player would like to see what will happen in the summer and how many will move to Arab clubs. Juventus will only accept offers of 10 to 15 million euros (£8.5-12.8m). West Ham and Everton are also on the player.”

West Ham have been keen on Kostic before

The Hammers have a history of being linked with Kostic, and the Serbian was close to joining the club two summers ago before a deal collapsed and David Moyes moved for Emerson Palmieri instead.

The Italian has since become a regular and has been excellent for West Ham, but with Aaron Cresswell and Ben Johnson both seemingly likely to leave the club in the summer that means more cover at left-back is needed.

Maxwel Cornet is another option there who seemingly doesn’t have a long-term future at the London Stadium, and Kostic would provide experience and versatility similar to what the Ivorian does.

However with serious question marks about David Moyes’ future beyond the summer, it remains to be seen if the club would still follow through on this interest if he were to leave.

Any new manager may prefer to look elsewhere instead, so this is definitely one to keep an eye on ahead of the window but there is clearly a deal there to be done if they want to.
