West Ham United want to sign Everton winger Demarai Gray, ready to listen to offers

West Ham United want to sign Everton winger Demarai Gray as he enters the final 12 months of his contract, according to 90min (11 July).

The newly-capped Jamaica international has been tipped to leave Goodison Park after becoming a bit-part player under Sean Dyche, and is said to be considering his future.

But now the Toffees are willing to listen to offers amid the interest being registered in him, and West Ham are one of the clubs taking a look at him alongside Brentford, Crystal Palace and clubs in Saudi Arabia.

“Outgoings wise, Everton are ready to listen to offers for Demarai Gray amid interest from a number of Premier League clubs and also from the Saudi Pro League,” they wrote.

“Crystal Palace, West Ham and Brentford are keeping an eye on Gray’s situation on Merseyside, with the club already looking at potential alternatives – Leeds’ Willy Gnonto among those considered.”

Wingers wanted

It seems quite evident that the club want to bring in a winger this summer if they get the opportunity considering the targets named so far during the window.

Harvey Barnes seems to be the main target, but a move to Newcastle now looks to be on the cards and that means David Moyes will need to adapt and find someone else.

Gray would be a really good option as his abilities fit into what the manager loves in a winger. He is direct, has fantastic pace, a good eye for goal and he’s creative too.

He would be the perfect foil on the opposite flank to Jarrod Bowen, and offers something slightly different to what Said Benrahma currently offers in the position.

With Maxwel Cornet at the club it could be a case of one or the other, although Cornet could be moved into a striker role next season with Gianluca Scamacca’s role up in the air right now.

He wouldn’t be too expensive and he’d surely be interested in playing European football, so this would be a shrewd bit of business.
