West Ham United want to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers this summer, face competition from several clubs

West Ham are keen on completing a deal to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers this summer, after his excellent loan spell with Celtic according to 90min.

Carter-Vickers is currently playing at Parkhead on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, with the 24-year-old a regular starter in the heart of the defence that looks set to win the Scottish Premiership title.

But despite the club having an option to turn that deal permanent in a deal worth an initial £6m rising to £10m, West Ham are said to be one of a number of Premier League clubs interested in competing for his signature.

He will have just one year remaining on his contract on north London and looks certain to leave the club permanently with Spurs having no plans to integrate him into the first-team squad.

West Ham, Fulham, Southampton, Everton, Wolves and Crystal Palace are all said to be monitoring his situation, with the player open to a move away from Celtic with Premier League football a big pull.

Solid

Carter-Vickers would be an excellent signing for West Ham this summer and would epitomise the type of squad that David Moyes wants to build at the London Stadium.

He is young enough at 24 to still have a huge amount of improving to do, but he is also coachable which is something that Moyes loves in his players.

West Ham

He has got experience of playing at the top level with Celtic this season, with Chris Sutton labelling him ‘immense’, and competing for the title has ensured that he has found a level of consistency to his game that is important to playing for the big clubs.

A deal worth around £10m would be excellent business that wouldn’t chew into the club’s budget too much, while also allowing them to move on Issa Diop without too much hassle.

It will be difficult for them to get a deal done with so much competition for his signature but if they are willing to give him regular game time and continue the upwards trajectory of the club they would be a great landing spot.
