West Ham United want to sign £40million ace Santiago Gimenez, Feyenoord braced for January bids
West Ham United want to sign 22-year-old Feyenoord and Mexico striker Santiago Gimenez, according to the Mirror.
The publication reported on its website on Saturday (28 October) that the Hammers are among several clubs chasing his signature.
The Mirror added that Eredivisie club Feyenoord are braced for January bids for the player, whose value is now £40million-plus.

“West Ham are among a long list of clubs chasing highly-rated Feyenoord frontman Santiago Gimenez,” according to the Mirror.
“West Ham were ahead of the game and actually initiated preliminary talks over a deal for Gimenez in August – both with Feyenoord and his representatives – following the sale of Gianluca Scamacca – but the player opted to extend his contract in Rotterdam until 2027.
“Now Gimenez’s value has sky-rocketed upwards of £40million although Feyenoord have no interest in selling their most valuable asset, particularly halfway through the current campaign, in January.”

Sensation
Gimenez is unsurprisingly attracting interest from several clubs, with the Mirror adding that fellow Premier League sides Tottenham, Arsenal and Newcastle United are chasing his services.
But the long list of potential suitors doesn’t end there, with Serie A giants Inter, AC Milan and Juventus all keeping tabs on the striker, along with Spanish outfits Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
Eredivisie outfit Feyenoord will definitely be doing their utmost to keep the striker, who has banged in a stunning tally of 15 goals from his 12 matches in all competitions this season.
The Mexican is producing the goods both in the league and in the Champions League, having netted twice in the group stage win over Lazio on Wednesday (25 October).
That all means that the Hammers will find it very tough to convince the 22-year-old to come to the London Stadium. He seemingly has the freedom to choose from a lengthy list of top clubs, and the East London outfit are not likely to be at the top.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers are in prime position to land a Serie A star as £35million transfer news emerges.
