West Ham United want ‘Next Generation’ George Feeney transfer in new update

West Ham are eyeing a potential move to sign Glentoran sensation George Feeney, according to the Mail on Sunday.

The newspaper named the 16-year-old on page 88 of its print edition on 31 March as one of the “next generation” talents coming out of Northern Ireland, where Hammers forward Callum Marshall was also mentioned.

It added that Feeney is also attracting the interest of the Irons’ Premier League rivals Tottenham and Brighton after making his debut this season for the Belfast-based club, where the forward’s father Warren is the manager.

West Ham eyeing future talents amid George Feeney interest

It’s certainly a positive to see West Ham are looking to mix up their recruit after registering an interest in signing Feeney.

The teenager is obviously an exciting talent and the fact that the likes of Brighton, who have unearthed several gems in recent years, are interested proves that point.

The Hammers’ technical director Tim Steidten has been scouring the market for players who could prove to be stars of the future since his arrival at the London Stadium last summer.

Northern Ireland is clearly somewhere the Irons are keeping a close eye on after signing Marshall from Linfield in 2022 before sending him out on loan to West Brom in the second half of this campaign.

It will be interesting to see whether we act on our interest in Feeney as it would be a relatively low-risk deal to pursue given that a modest fee would likely lure him away from Glentoran.
