West Ham United update on signing Wan-Bissaka next emerges from Dharmesh Sheth

Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth has shared that there is still “work to do” on Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham United.

Writing on Sky Sports’ transfer blog [6 August, 17:25], Sheth shared that the Hammers are still pushing for the transfer of the right-back which could start a “domino effect” across the transfer market.

However, the journalist adds that work still needs to be done on most aspects of the deal such as the fee, the structure of the fee, and Wan-Bissaka’s contractual details.

West Ham need to step up their chase for Aaron Wan-Bissaka

West Ham have been one of the few Premier League teams that have made a plethora of changes within their ranks.

Julen Lopetegui’s men were in dire need of reinforcement across the board despite the club finishing in a very respectable ninth place.

The Hammers’ defence was among the weakest in the league and the fact that Ben Johnson has now exited [Sean Whetstone, 1 July] means that their need for defensive reinforcement is now more rife than ever.

Wan-Bissaka would be a stellar addition to the club as his defensive skills are among the best in the Premier League.

He has been called the king of sliding tackles by many and his pace also helps with the defenders’ recovery of the ball.

The Manchester United man would be able to split the role with veteran Vladimir Coufal which would allow the club to have a strong right-back no matter what.

Although the club have already brought in the likes of Max Kilman and Crysencio Summerville, the club need to sign a right-back as a matter of emergency.

In other West Ham news, one Hammers man has been singled out as ‘key’ to making the Niclas Fullkrug deal happen.
