West Ham United unlikely to sign both Gianluca Scamacca and Armando Broja

West Ham United are likely to sign one of Armando Broja or Gianluca Scamacca this summer but not both, according to Sky Sports.

The Guardian reported on Monday 18 July that the Hammers have submitted a £30million-plus offer for 20-year-old Broja and are close to agreeing on personal terms with the Albanian.

However, it has also been reported by 90min (15 July) that the Hammers have agreed a deal in principle with Sassuolo for Italy international Scamacca.

It now appears that any hope of a double deal for the attacking duo now seems slim with Sky Sports reporting on Tuesday 19 July that although signing both hasn’t been ruled out, it is more likely that one will join rather than both players.

Go get both

Scamacca, Broja and Michail Antonio would surely be the perfect striking options for David Moyes to choose from for the upcoming Premier League season?

West Ham’s striking issues have been well-documented over a number of years and with a deal for Broja now looking close it is certainly an exciting time to be a Hammers fan.

However, if the Irons could add Scamacca to their ranks it would send a huge statement of intent to the rest of the league.

The Italian international has enjoyed a prolific campaign in the Serie A scoring 16 goals for Sassuolo and becoming a regular in the Italian national side.

After a slow start to the summer, this is proving to be the transfer window that all West Ham fans had hoped for after their seventh-place finish in the 2021/22 Premier League.

It is time for the Irons to turn themselves into a regular top-six club and show Hammers fans that leaving Upton Park was ultimately the right thing to do.
