West Ham United unable to meet £25m demand for January transfer target Terem Moffi
West Ham are unable to meet the £25m demands of Lorient in their pursuit of striker Terem Moffi this month, according to the Daily Mail.
The Hammers are in the market for a new striker in the winter transfer window after their poor form has left them outside the relegation zone only on goal difference.
With strikers Gianluca Scamacca and Michail Antonio struggling for goals this season, the Nigeria international has emerged as a target but a fresh report claims that David Moyes won’t be able to get his man as they can’t afford him.

“West Ham have also asked about Lorient’s Terem Moffi but are unable to meet the asking price of around £25m,” they wrote (10 January).
“Southampton have already had a bid rejected for the 23-year-old Moffi, who also has interest from Everton.”
Shame
Moffi has had a real breakthrough season so far this year, netting 10 goals in 14 appearances in Ligue 1 and could be seen as an ideal addition to the side to compete with Antonio and Scamacca.
But as usual, as soon as an English team shows some interest the price in a player shoots up and that has all but ruled West Ham out of the race for his signature now.

Bournemouth’s new owner is also set to take over as the owner of Lorient, and that means that he is likely to assist the Cherries in bringing him in to help their bid for survival.
Now West Ham are stuck in the loan market because of their struggling finances and poor performances this season, and that means they need to search for some bargains to boost their own chances of avoiding the drop.
Moffi would have been interesting, no doubt, but it seems this is a deal that won’t be going any further.
