West Ham United transfer update emerges before Luton clash and late deadline
West Ham have suffered more disappointment in the transfer window as their attempts to sign a new forward have not materialised on deadline day, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper shared via their website on 1 September that the Hammers’ attentions have turned to their clash with Luton, after missing out on deals for Yuri Alberto, Youssef En-Nesyri and Hugo Ekitike late in the window.
One piece of business West Ham will complete before the transfer window closes is the signing of SK Austria Klagenfurt midfielder Andy Irving, who will be loaned straight back to the Austrian side.

A disappointing end to a busy window
It has been a disappointing end to the window for West Ham. Having sold Declan Rice to Arsenal for £105million, they sought to reinvest this money into the squad and pulled off deals for James Ward-Prowse, Edson Alvarez and Mohammed Kudus in their attempts to replace him.
Their efforts to find a striker who could replace the outgoing Gianluca Scamacca, who moved back to Italy and signed for Atalanta, have been much less successful, with late moves for several players ultimately proving unsuccessful.
West Ham technical director Tim Steidten flew to Brazil in an attempt to sign Alberto from Corinthians, but returned to London empty-handed, while attempts to negotiate with Sevilla for En-Nesyri, and Paris Saint-Germain for Ekitike, also proved unsuccessful.

The focus will now turn to tonight’s Premier League fixture with Luton Town, with the Hammers’ transfer business finished for the summer, and they will now look to push ahead with their league campaign without a new striker.
In other West Ham news, a Chelsea player would be open to joining West Ham despite a deal with rivals.
