West Ham United transfer update as big spend update drops at London Stadium
West Ham United won’t dig deep into their pockets to sign a full-back in the upcoming transfer window despite heavy links with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Paul Brown understands.
The Hammers are reportedly primed to swoop in on Manchester United outcast Wan-Bissaka in the coming weeks as their defensive dilemmas continue to grow following the 2-0 defeat to Brentford on Friday night (30 December).
With Vladimir Coufal reportedly ready to part companies with David Moyes’ team and Harrison Ashby on Newcastle United’s radar, a replacement could be needed in January.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, sports writer Brown believes West Ham United will look to sign the 25-year-old if the price was right but doesn’t think the club will look to spend significant sums in this particular area of the pitch.
He said: “I think if the price was right, it’s definitely one they would do.
“But I don’t think West Ham will spend a lot of money on a full-back this window.”

Return to form
Despite being ostracised on the whole from Manchester United’s starting XI over the last 12 months, Wan Bissaka has seen a recent upturn in his fortunes since the Qatar World Cup break.
Whether United manager Erik ten Hag gave the right-back some harsh truths or he realised it was his last chance saloon at Old Trafford, his performance against Burnley in the League Cup was a stark return to form.
Moyes and David Sullivan will surely be taking a keen interest in the former England Under-21 international as his side continues to slip ever-loser to the Premier League relegation zone. Coufal is no longer the player he was 18 months ago, while Thilo Kehrer and Ben Johnson are merely stopgap right-backs.
With a loan-to-buy option reportedly available for Wan-Bissaka in January, the club won’t have to spend big for the defender to get him through the gates in East London.
