Monaco now in advanced talks to sign Thilo Kehrer as West Ham United exit decision made in January transfer window
Monaco are in advanced talks with West Ham over a deal to sign defender Thilo Kehrer, according to talkSPORT.
The radio station reported on its website on Monday (1 January) that discussions are ongoing after the German asked to leave London Stadium this month.
Kehrer has yet to start a Premier League game for United this season, while he has made just four appearances from the substitutes’ bench.

The 27-year-old, who joined from Paris Saint-Germain in August 2022, has totalled just 19 minutes on the field in the top flight this campaign.
Unsettled player
Kehrer was a regular under David Moyes last season, starting 25 times in the league while also starting the Europa Conference League semi-final and final.
The Germany international has fallen massively out of favour this time around, though, so much so that he even struggles to now make appearances from the bench.
On that basis, it makes sense to sell Kehrer this month and hopefully inject the funds into signing another player.

From a selfish point of view, having Kehrer among the subs makes United’s squad a lot stronger, but there is no point in having an unsettled player at the club.
A move to Monaco also makes sense from the player’s perspective, as they are third in Ligue 1 at the midway point of the campaign.
It would be great if West Ham could strengthen the side this window, but it is more likely that Kehrer’s exit will be the first piece of business we see concluded.
In other West Ham news, a journalist has mooted a “change of heart” from Ghana with regards to Mohammed Kudus.
