West Ham United must swoop now for Serhou Guirassy after Fabrizio Romano transfer update
West Ham must surely now be readying a bid for Stuttgart gem Serhou Guirassy after a double transfer update on Wednesday (7 February).
David Ornstein reported via his personal Twitter account [7 February] that Ibrahim Osman is now heading to Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Seagulls are said to have agreed a £16.6million deal with FC Nordsjaelland for the Ghana international, who was also wanted by the Irons.
United were eager to bring Osman to London Stadium in the January window, but a deal could not be struck and Brighton have swooped.
Around the same time as that update from Ornstein, fellow transfer guru Fabrizio Romano also dropped a West Ham update.
Posting on his Daily Briefing page, Romano said West Ham were looking at Guirassy in January and the striker still has a £13.85m release clause.
If the Irons’ interest was not serious before, it simply has to be now. The club cannot let the summer window pass without a striker being signed.
Guirassy, hailed as “phenomenal” by Stuttgart head coach Sebastian Hoeness, has scored 17 goals in 14 Bundesliga games this season.

Anything close to that return would transform the Hammers from Europa League challengers to Champions League contenders.
Given just how small the release clause is, even offering Stuttgart a much larger sum could pay off in order to get a deal finalised.
The summer window may still be four months away, but as Brighton have showed, it works to think ahead with your business.
