Claret and Hugh share latest on West Ham United interest in Manchester United ace Scott McTominay
West Ham are not likely to make a fresh move for Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay, according to Claret & Hugh.
The reputable source reported on its website on Friday (20 October) that West Ham’s focus in January – should funds be available – is elsewhere.
It comes after Stan Collymore tipped the Hammers to bring in McTominay in his Caught Offside column earlier on Friday (20 October).

However, Claret & Hugh reported that those suggestions appear “off the mark”, with a new striker Moyes’ priority, followed by a full-back.
The report adds: “Given this, it seems highly unlikely that West Ham would approve a multi-million-pound offer for McTominay.”
Focus elsewhere
First and foremost, McTominay is a very good player who would add even more depth to West Ham’s central midfield.
James Ward-Prowse and Edson Alvarez have taken no time to settle, while Tomas Soucek has returned to something close to his best form.
But McTominay can bring something a little different, and Moyes appears the perfect manager to get the most out of his fellow Scotsman.

However, having already had a £30million bid rejected by Man United in August [The Athletic], United will surely not consider a fresh bid.
As this report states, a new out-and-out striker to succeed Michail Antonio is needed, while a couple of new full-backs would be nice.
That is not to say Emerson Palmieri and Vladimir Coufal deserve to be axed, but United will want to continue strengthening certain areas.
Realistically speaking, though, spending £30m or more on McTominay just makes little sense right now, even if the money was there to do so.
In other West Ham news, a pundit was unaware of a stat regarding the Hammers ahead of their trip to Aston Villa this weekend.
