West Ham United explore late deal for Juventus midfielder Filip Kostic as £20m+ update emerges on Sky Sports

West Ham have been informed it will take a bid of at least £20million to sign Filip Kostic from Juventus, according to Sky Sports.

The reliable news source provided an update on the Hammers’ late deal for the midfielder on their live transfer blog on Thursday [31 August, 08:42]

Juventus are said to value Kostic between £20m and £25m, which is a big gap in West Ham’s valuation, although the Premier League side are also exploring the possibility of a loan option.

Second time lucky?

West Ham have been making up for lost time over the past few weeks, having brought in Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Mohammed Kudus since 10 August.

The Hammers continue to be linked with a number of players, the most recent of which being Kostic.

Kostic was strongly linked with a move to the London Stadium last summer, only to join Juventus from Eintracht Frankfurt.

After appearing 37 times in Serie A for Massimiliano Allegri’s side last season, he has yet to be used this campaign.

The Serbia international plays mainly as a left winger, making this a strange move for West Ham on the face of it.

David Moyes is clearly after more strength in that department, but surely not for the price Juve are seeking.

This may well be one to avoid for the Hammers – unless a loan deal is a viable option – with other areas more in need of strengthening.

In other West Ham news, a player who departed the London Stadium this summer is close to joining another Premier League club.
