Tim Steidten to get involved in Divin Mubama talks amid West Ham United exit fears
Tim Steidten is the latest high-profile figure at West Ham to get involved in contract talks with Divin Mubama, according to Claret & Hugh.
Mubama is out of contract at London Stadium at the end of the season and has so far rejected the club’s advances of a new long-term deal.
Claret & Hugh reported last week that majority owner David Sullivan is due to hold talks with the youngster, while the same outlet provided another update on its website on Wednesday [15 November].

“It looks very likely that the persuasive tongue of Tim Steidten will be involved as it was when Jarrod Bowen agreed to a new seven-year deal,” the report read.
“The technical director of course ensured via talks that Edson Alvarez and Mohammed Kudus joined from Ajax when numerous other clubs were showing an interest and can now be fully expected to become involved in sweet talking the Hammers exciting teenage striking prospect.”
Time’s ticking
Tying down Mubama to a deal beyond the end of this season – and hopefully for a number of years on top of that – is a priority for West Ham.
The 19-year-old showed his talents in the FA Youth Cup-winning side last season and has also played at senior level in cup competitions this campaign.
Mubama is now at an age where he could be playing fairly regularly in the Premier League, but he has yet to feature once this season.
That is perhaps why the teenager is stalling over agreeing fresh terms, and it is therefore down to the club to persuade him that we can offer him everything he wants.

David Moyes warned the West Ham fan last week that the grass is not always greener, yet at the same time it is down to the Scotsman to give him more opportunities.
At a time when United are crying out for a striker, it seem an obvious chance to give Mubama a couple of substitute appearances at the very least. It must be remembered that 19 is no longer considered young in footballing terms.
A spell out on loan in the second half of this season may make sense, although for that to happen he would of course have to sign a new contract first.
With Steidten now involved in talks, let’s hope a positive resolution is found for both parties.
In other West Ham news, a report has shared whether Manchester City intend to move for Lucas Paqueta in January.
