West Ham United transfer news: Conor Gallagher Chelsea exit stance shared amid reported Hammers January interest
Conor Gallagher is set to reject any offers to leave Chelsea in the January transfer window amid interest from West Ham in signing him, according to TEAMTALK.
The news outlet reported on its website on Friday (19 January) that there is a “split” at Stamford Bridge over the England international as some believe selling the midfielder would be beneficial to their finances.
It added that the Hammers are still interested in signing the 23-year-old, but the Blues academy product wants to remain in West London and help turn the club’s fortunes around this season.

Unsurprising
It comes as no real surprise to hear that Gallagher is intent on remaining with Chelsea because it’s his boyhood club and he’s never shared any desire to leave.
The Blues are clearly considering offloading him because a sale would go down as 100 per cent profit after he came through their academy, with the club toeing the FFP line following their recent spending sprees.
While he would be an excellent addition to the West Ham midfield, it’s probably not worth wasting time on a player who doesn’t want to come to the London Stadium.

With the interest in Kalvin Phillips also being reported, it’s clear that David Moyes wants to bring in another central midfielder this month as we are a little bit short in that area.
It’s probably going to come down to finances, so we may have to offload another player before we can get a high-profile player through the door.
In other West Ham news, the club are eyeing a move for a player on £200,000 a week.
