West Ham United transfer news as Roma want costly loan move for Gianluca Scamacca
Roma want to bring West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca to the club next season on a costly loan deal, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian newspaper reports on page 15 of their print edition (1 July) that the player already has a rough agreement to join the club as Roma’s director Tiago Pinto now looks to come to an agreement with West Ham.
Any loan would be costly as the Hammers paid just over £30million last year for the striker. The English side are interested in an obligation-to-buy clause being inserted in any agreement, however, Roma are not keen on this stipulation.

Scamacca is currently away in Sardina preparing for the new season alongside a physiotherapist as he continues to recover from a right knee injury.
Waste
It is fair to say that the striker’s transfer has not worked out as the Hammers would have planned.
There was a lot of excitement and expectation when the 24-year-old arrived at the London stadium however the former Sassuolo man has not lived up to any of it.
A return to Italy makes sense for the forward who seems more suited to the style of football played in the Serie A, rather than what is played in the Premier League.

Although it seems as if any deal will be tricky to complete. A straight loan would not be favourable for West Ham as they would then find themselves with an unhappy player next season upon his return.
But Roma are unlikely to agree to an obligation to buy considering their current financial situation. Both sides will be keen to continue negotiating a deal with the player keen on the move and this is therefore certainly one to watch.
If a move does go through, fans can check this signing off as yet another failed striker at the club.
In other West Ham news, the club could lure a Ligue 1 star to the club this summer.
