West Ham United transfer news as Paris Saint-Germain desperate to sell Hugo Ekitike

Paris Saint-Germain are desperate to sell striker Hugo Ekitike in the final minutes of the transfer window, with West Ham and Crystal Palace linked, according to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol.

The sports news outlet shared via their transfer blog [21:26] that PSG are close to completing a deal for Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani, which has made Ekitike available for either English club to get a deal done.

Santi Aouna has reported that West Ham had a loan-to-buy offer for the French striker rejected by PSG as they prefer to sell him on a permanent transfer before the window closes.

Going down to the wire

This transfer looks like one that will go right down to the wire. PSG are keen on letting him leave, and his preference is to join one of the Premier League clubs, having turned down a move to Frankfurt earlier on deadline day, but whether a deal can be reached is yet to be seen.

Crystal Palace appeared to be the front runners, but with West Ham making an official offer to bring him to the London Stadium, they look to have moved ahead in the deal despite the ultimate outcome of their bid not being what they had hoped for.

If PSG truly are desperate to sell Ekitike, their valuation may change before the transfer window shuts at 11 pm, so it may be a case of waiting and seeing what happens for West Ham in a deal that will drag on throughout the night in the race for his signature.

West Ham

Ekitike joined PSG last year despite being linked to West Ham at the time, so a move to the London Stadium may seem overdue for the Frenchman, as PSG look to cash in having signed Goncalo Ramos and potentially Kolo Muani in his position this summer.
