West Ham United transfer news as Julen Lopetegui priority emerges amid Luis Guilherme update
West Ham United are expected to still be busy this summer with a new wide forward the priority for Julen Lopetegui, according to talkSPORT.
The outlet reported on its website on Monday (3 June) that the Irons are set to walk away from deals to sign both Luis Guilherme and Fabricio Bruno as they are not prepared to match the Brazilian pair’s wage demands.
Despite this setback, former Wolves boss Lopetegui is still keen to put his own stamp on the playing squad this summer with as many as four new signings before the start of next season.
Although a new winger remains the number one priority, the Spaniard is understood to want to sign two new defenders whilst there is an expectation that a number of players could leave the London Stadium.

There will be a feeling of disappointment already around the London Stadium as news begins to reach supporters suggesting that both Guilherme and Bruno’s arrivals now appear to be off of the cards.
While some reports have suggested that the Hammers are still doing all that they can to get at least one of the two players to East London [Roshane Thomas, 3 June] it feels more likely that both players could be plying their trade in Saudi Arabia sooner rather than later.
But one setback doesn’t mean the Irons’ entire summer transfer plans should be thrown out of the window. Instead, Tim Steidten and Lopetegui must go back to the transfer window and find new targets to fill these priority positions.
The transfer window hasn’t even officially opened yet and the former Real Madrid manager hasn’t even begun work ahead of pre-season. There is plenty of time for new signings to be made, even if it feels like everything is going against West Ham at the moment.
Hopefully, some more luck will emerge for the Hammers sooner rather than later.
