West Ham United transfer news as four player spree now on cards
West Ham want to bring in four players this summer following the exit of Declan Rice as they look to improve the rest of the squad ahead of the new season, according to Claret and Hugh.
The East London club are targeting two new players in midfield, to fill the huge void left by Rice’s move, a central defender and possibly a striker, with three weeks left of pre-season to bed them in before the Premier League season begins again.
The club have been linked to a number of players in each of these positions this summer, and feel that these are the key areas for improvement if they wish to limit the impact of losing a player of the standard of Rice.

What options do they have?
In midfield, West Ham have been targeting a number of possible avenues to explore. They have most recently been linked to Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher, while also targeting moves for Fulham star Joao Palhinha, Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana, and Ajax destroyer Edson Alvarez.
Any of these options would be serious additions to this West Ham squad, as they look to take the level up a notch following their European success.
In terms of centre-backs, West Ham have been heavily linked with a deal for Real Betis’ Luiz Felipe, with reports suggesting the club have made multiple offers and that the talks are nearing a resolution. Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has also been suggested.

Up front, the Hammers look set to let go of Gianluca Scamacca who they signed last summer, as they target Arsenal forward Folarin Balogun, who scored 20 goals while on loan for Reims in Ligue 1 last season.
These players are all ambitious targets for the East London club, and would all add a real sense of quality to a side that may have started to become stale in recent years, struggling in the Premier League despite their European success.
In other West Ham news, the club have expressed their interest in a £20million player.
