West Ham United transfer news as Fabrizio Romano shares Matias Soule update at Juventus
West Ham United remain keen on Matias Soule but no formal bid has yet been submitted to Juventus, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The transfer specialist reported in his Daily Briefing (14 June) that the Old Lady want around £33.7million (€40million) to allow the attacker to leave this summer, with the race still open to secure his signature this summer.
Between four and five clubs outside of Italy are interested in signing the 21-year-old and while negotiations with Juventus aren’t expected to be easy, the Hammers are one side who remain interested in his services.
Writing in his Daily Briefing, Romano said: “Matias Soulé is attracting concrete interest from West Ham and others but no formal bid yet, so Soulé could be one to watch in terms of exits.
“Juventus want around €40m to let Soulé leave the club, so it won’t be an easy negotiation between clubs… but for sure there’s a lot of interest around Europe, including at least 4-5 clubs from abroad. It’s an open race, but West Ham are keen.”
Will Julen Lopetegeui and West Ham United sign Matias Soule in the summer transfer window?
With Luis Guilherme already through the door and the summer transfer window now officially open, it is fair to expect the Hammers’ business to ramp up in the coming weeks as Tim Steidten plots his major overhaul in East London.
Although bolstering in defence is believed to be a priority for the Irons, they could also do with one or two more attacking additions and Soule fits the bill of the sort of profile Julen Lopetegeui is looking for.
The 21-year-old enjoyed an excellent season on loan with Frosinone, scoring 11 goals and laying on three assists in 36 league starts last term and there will be a feeling that with the right coaching, he could hit new heights in the Premier League.

Ultimately, Juventus’ asking price is high for a player who is yet to be tested outside of Italy, but it could be a gamble worth taking for West Ham, particularly with the uncertainty surrounding Lucas Paqueta’s future.
If the Irons do act on their interest, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a formal bid submitted for his services sooner rather than later.
