West Ham United transfer news as £26.6m bid tabled for Terem Moffi
West Ham United have submitted a new bid of £26.6million for FC Lorient striker Terem Moffi through agent Willy McKay, according to journalist Santi Aouna.
L’Equipe reported on Sunday (15 January) the East London club had an £18million bid rejected for the 23-year-old, who scored for Lorient at the weekend in their 3-1 defeat to Marseille.
Moffi helped FC Lorient escape relegation last season before sending chins wagging with 12 goals from 18 games this term in Ligue 1, which is only behind Kylian Mbappe in the golden boot race.

The Hammers are looking to add some much-needed firepower to their squad this month, who have managed to score a miserly 15 goals from 19 Premier League matches this season.
Foot Mercato journalist Aouna shared an update on the transfer situation on Monday morning (16 January) via his personal Twitter account.
He said: “Nice and Lorient continue to negotiate for Moffi who has agreed to join the Aiglons. Nice’s latest offer was turned down.
“West Ham, through Willy McKay, offers €30M including bonus.”
Fresh legs
Moffi has proven himself one of the most dangerous forwards in the French league this season and could add an injection of pace and power into David Moyes’ often lethargic attack.
The likes of Gianluca Scamacca, Pablo Fornals and Said Benrahma all have their respective qualities but don’t possess the pace to stretch a team in behind – a trait Moffi has in abundance.
With Michail Antonio’s future up in the air and Scamacca failing to live up to his summer price tag, West Ham are in desperate need of reinforcements this month to fire them away from the relegation zone.
Moyes’ job is under serious threat, but the signing of the Nigerian international could provide the Scot with one last lifeline as manager.
Whether the deal will be finalised before Moyes faces the chopping block is still unclear, but one thing is for certain: Moffi is a serious talent who could well transform the West Ham United forward line.
