West Ham United transfer news as £10.3m update emerges in Samuel Iling-Junior race

West Ham United remain interested in completing a £10.3million summer transfer to bring Samuel Iling-Junior to the London Stadium, according to Tutto Juve.

The Italian outlet reported on its website on Tuesday (5 March) that the Hammers, alongside Brentford, Brighton and Southampton remain keen on the Juventus winger whose contract in Turin expires at the end of next season.

Juventus are yet to decide whether they should extend Iling-Junior’s deal or sell him this summer. Ideally, they would like £12.8million for his services, however, they are understood to be willing to accept offers of around £10.3million instead.

Will West Ham complete summer transfer to bring Samuel Iling-Junior to the London Stadium

There is a lot of uncertainty surrounding West Ham at this moment in time, with little clarity over David Moyes’ future beyond the end of the season and plenty of speculation surrounding Tim Steidten’s position.

That makes it difficult for the Hammers to plan too far ahead for the summer transfer window, but Iling-Junior does fit the Irons’ model of looking for exciting young talent in Europe, which has served them well in the past.

Tim Steidten and David Moyes have not seen eye to eye at West Ham United.

The 20-year-old has impressed in patches for Europe and is wildly regarded as an excellent prospect, but it would represent a bit of a gamble. However, the Irons were keen to add to their wide options throughout the January window.

It feels as though this is the sort of deal that Hammers fans should be keeping an eye on between now and the end of the season, especially if Juventus don’t tie Iling-Junior down to a new contract before the end of the campaign.

Hopefully, West Ham can book their place in Europe again next season as that might tempt the English winger to move to the London Stadium ahead of either Brighton or Brentford.
