West Ham United transfer for Aleix Garcia on despite Bayer Leverkusen agreement

West Ham are attempting to hijack a move for Girona midfielder Aleix Garcia despite Bayer Leverkusen striking an agreement with him, according to the Guardian.

The newspaper reported via its website on 7 June the Hammers are not out of the equation yet and are attempting to derail Leverkusen’s quest to sign the Spain international.

It’s understood that the 26-year-old will be leaving Girona in the summer transfer window.

The Hammers’ interest in the midfielder indicates their desire to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.

They can leverage their Premier League status and the allure of playing in London to attract Garcia.

A more lucrative financial package than Leverkusen may be offered by the London outfit, which could sway the player’s decision.

Additionally, the Irons can highlight their recent success in European competitions, a new manager and the start of a bright future at the club.

They should also ensure that they communicate their vision and plans for the future to the 26-year-old, which could help in convincing him to choose them over Leverkusen.

However, with them recently winning the Bundesliga and competing in the Champions League next season, it might be a bit hard to get done.
