West Ham United transfer development emerges on Andre Silva
West Ham manager Graham Potter is not understood to be convinced about Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi or RB Leipzig’s frontman Andre Silva, according to Hammers News.
The news outlet reported on 15 January after contacting a spokesperson of the club’s owners that Potter is not sure if either will be the right fit in the winter transfer window.
A deal to land Awoniyi was always going to be a difficult one [Jacob Steinberg] while talks have been held to secure Silva’s services, according to Bild.
“The manager is not sure about any of the choices,” a spokesman for the owners exclusively told Hammers News.
West Ham must listen to Graham Potter with regards to new transfers
If Potter, as the manager, is unconvinced about the potential signings of Awoniyi and Silva, then the club should heed his reservations and refrain from pursuing these transfers.
Despite being praised by Cristiano Ronaldo, who called him “Phenomenal“, it matters who the Hammers boss wants.
His role as the head coach is pivotal in shaping the team’s strategy and performance and his judgment on player fit is crucial.
Bringing in players against his will could disrupt team dynamics, affect morale and potentially lead to poor on-field performances if the players do not align with his tactical vision.
His experience and understanding of what the team needs should guide transfer decisions, ensuring that new signings integrate seamlessly into his system.

Moreover, investing in players that Potter does not fully endorse could be a misallocation of resources, particularly in the high-stakes environment of the transfer market.
In other West Ham news, sources claim the Hammers can now secure the services of a £40m player in January.
