West Ham United transfer details emerge in pursuit of exit-linked Roma ace Tammy Abraham

West Ham are well underway in their “operation” to sign Roma striker Tammy Abraham, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian publication published in their print edition on Monday (26 August) that the Hammers are ready to sanction a loan deal with an obligation to buy for around £18.6million to £19.4m.

They add that Abraham, capped 11 times by England, understands there is little space for him in the Roma squad and the Serie A side want him off the books to help conclude signings elsewhere.

Uncertainty shrouds West Ham Tammy Abraham move

There are a lot of conflicting reports surrounding the Hammers and a potential move for 26-year-old Abraham and it feels like one to just keep an eye on in the closing days of the window.

In Italy, they appear pretty convinced that the Irons are genuinely intent on bringing the former Chelsea striker to the London Stadium, even though they have already bolstered their forward ranks with the arrival of Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund.

However, Sean Whetstone reported via his West Ham Football X account that sources at the club had said there is no truth in reports they are looking to bring Abraham to the club.

It might represent something of a surprise if they were to pursue this one given Fullkrug’s arrival but, by the same token, it might be they could look to move on at least one of Michail Antonio or Danny Ings in the coming days.

File this one under wait and see for now, folks.

In other West Ham news, the club have just five days to sanction one exit amid PSR fears.
