West Ham United transfer collapses in major multi-million blow for Tim Steidten
West Ham United’s move for Fabricio Bruno appears to have collapsed after personal terms became too complex, according to the Mirror.
Ryan Taylor has reported (31 May, page 67) that a deal worth an initial £10.2 million has fallen through despite a four-year deal being agreed.
The Brazilian was not offered a “notable pay rise” from his Flamengo contract which will last until 2028 and so Bruno was “not satisfied with the offer”.
West Ham Fabricio Bruno move off
A deal for the defender appeared to be all but done with the fee agreed upon and the contract offered signing felt like a technicality.
There were some concerns when Hammers officials were forced into going to Brazil to try and iron out some final details.
It now appears that this didn’t work as the deal has fallen through at the final hour which means Bruno probably isn’t joining.
There had been concerns over his lack of European football given that he had spent his whole career in Brazil at 28 years old.

With that being said it will still be of great frustration that a deal hasn’t been pushed over the line after looking so likely.
This won’t reflect very well on Tim Steidten who has taken charge over transfers this summer after the departure of David Moyes.
His first transfer target has gone all the way until the end and collapsed at the final hurdle frustratingly.
Although the transfer window isn’t yet officially open, the deal looked to have been completed early but that is no longer the case.
In other West Ham news, the club have been urged to use Arsenal’s “unbelievable” transfer model.
