West Ham United, Tottenham offered free agent Yusuf Yazici as transfer update emerges

West Ham and Tottenham have been offered the chance to sign free agent Yusuf Yazici among a host of other European clubs, according to HITC.

The online source reported [4 September] that the Hammers and Spurs are joined by Galatasaray, AC Milan, Lazio, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Wolves, Southampton and Fulham.

While Julen Lopetegui are on the lookout to bring in a free agent after the closing of the transfer window, it is understood that Galatasaray are leading the race to sign the 27-year-old attacking midfielder.

West Ham United offered Yusuf Yazici deal

Yazici looks to be an extremely exciting potential signing, one who left Ligue 1 side Lille this summer. He played 42 matches last season, notching 12 goals and four assists in 42 appearances.

This came after a successful loan spell with Trabzonspor during the 2022/23 campaign, scoring five goals and assisting one other in 20 matches, rejoining the Turkish club after spending four years there.

He is also an established member of the Turkey national team, making two cameos during the 2024 European Championships before the team were knocked out following a 2-1 defeat to the Netherlands.

While Lopetegui’s attacking lineup is now stacked to the rafters, with the likes of Mohammed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta, Niclas Fullkrug and Crysencio Summerville, it would do no harm to add Yazici.

Especially after James Ward-Prowse’s loan move to Nottingham Forest, the Hammers could do with a player who can drive the team forward, like Paqueta, and provide key assists for his teammates.

Yazici looks to be someone who could play that exact role for Lopetegui, but the Hammers will need to act quickly if they are to win the race for the attacking midfielder’s signature.

Though there is no rush to sign a free agent outside of a transfer window, Galatasaray could be about to snatch a deal despite being offered to several clubs in the Premier League.
