West Ham United to price Premier League clubs out of move for ‘sensational’ Jarrod Bowen amid £100m development
West Ham could be set to price Premier League clubs out of a move for Jarrod Bowen, according to Dean Jones.
Speaking to GiveMeSport on Saturday (9 December), the former Eurosport journalist said the 26-year-old winger’s form has been “sensational” this season and he wouldn’t be surprised to see other top-flight sides pursue him like they previously did Declan Rice.
After TEAMTALK reported on Friday (8 December) that the Hammers are set to slap a £100million price tag on the England international, Jones believes it’s a reasonable amount given that Arsenal paid a similar fee to sign Rice over the summer.

“The form of Jarrod Bowen is little short of sensational and it would be no surprise if he was suddenly pursued by other Premier League clubs in a way not dissimilar to how Declan Rice was chased last season,” said Jones.
“The difference here is that there always seemed an acceptance that Rice would leave and I really don’t get the same feeling with Bowen.
“I think it was a big statement when he signed his last contract because you do not commit yourself until 2030 without a very deep thought process and deep love for the club. I don’t think it’s a surprise that West Ham would value him at £100million.
“You look at players like Jack Grealish and Rice moving for massive sums and then look at Bowen’s output, the fact he’s around the England set-up, and think it’s reasonable at this moment he would be given a massive price tag – even if it is just to price him out of a move.”
No need to sell
The situation regarding Rice was completely different as it always seemed inevitable that the former West Ham captain would move on at some point.
That doesn’t seem to be the case for Bowen after he recently committed his long-term future to the club by signing a new seven-year deal at the London Stadium.
But if any potential suitors do decide to act on their interest, then the £100million fee is more than fair given what he means to the club.

It’s unlikely anyone would want to pay that much for him, but we don’t need to sell due to his contract and happiness in East London, so pricing clubs out of a move is the right move to make at the moment.
The winger has shown this season that we simply couldn’t do without him after his incredible form has earned him his place back in the England setup.
