West Ham United to meet Frankfurt on Friday for Filip Kostic talks – ExWHUemployee

West Ham will meet with agent Alessandro Lucci on Friday in Germany to try and close a deal for Filip Kostic, according to ExWHUemployee.

The Hammers are in the market for a left-back and have targeted the Serbian international, who has entered the final year of his contract with the Bundesliga club.

A deal has been agreed between the clubs, but West Ham are trying to convince the player to give up Champions League football to move to London.

Ex says that the club are willing to double the 29-year-old’s £43,000 per-week wages to convince him to sign, and there will be a meeting on Friday with his agent to try and conclude the deal.

Kostic played 42 times for Frankfurt last season, scoring seven goals and registering 15 assists in all competitions as a wing-back in their 3-4-3 formation.

Pressure

West Ham need a left back for the coming season and it seems as though everyone knows it, so it’s difficult to find a good deal.

But they have managed to find one in Kostic, with a fee of around £10m expected to be enough to get this over the line with Frankfurt and its just about convincing him to join.

West Ham

Wages of £86,000 per week are high, but not crazy at West Ham for someone who is giving up Champions League football to join and will immediately improve the team.

He also is capable of playing multiple positions to a high level and will give Moyes plenty of options, with his strength from set-pieces also seen as a big reason to try and sign him.

With the Premier League season less than two weeks away getting this deal wrapped up before then would be a huge boost to the team, but they’re under pressure to convince him or have to start their chase all over again.
