West Ham United have made contact with Juventus over a deal for Matias Soule and will make an official bid soon, according to Calcio Mercato.

The Italian source reported [14 June] that the Hammers have made initial contacts with the Argentine's representatives amid a potential transfer to the London Stadium this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano [14 June], the London club remain keen on Soule, though Juventus want around £33.7million to allow the striker to leave in the summer transfer window.

Tim Steidten and West Ham continue their quest to sign South American players, having already confirmed the signing of Palmieras' Luis Guilherme earlier this week.

While Soule is from South America, he plies his trade in Serie A with Juventus, though he has spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan with Frosinone, gaining valuable experience.

The forward notched 11 goals and three assists in 36 league matches as Frosinone were condemned to relegation to Serie B. It was still an impressive season for the 21-year-old, however.

While he has only made 21 senior appearances for the Old Lady, the club seem to be standing strong on their £30million+ valuation of the forward, which could put some clubs off.

Capable of deputising on either flank, as an attacking midfielder, or as an out-and-out centre-forward, Soule's adaptability makes him an extremely exciting prospect, one that would fit in well in Julen Lopetegui's side.

The Spaniard is likely to make many changes to the squad this summer, though he will be hoping the likes of Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus are all available next season.

The fluidity of Soule's positional play would help him fit seamlessly into the Hammers squad, with the aforementioned trio happy to switch positions in-game in order to counter-attack.

Guilherme's arrival is likely to just be the first of multiple signings this summer, and Soule would be a welcomed addition ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
