West Ham United to hijack Everton move for Jackson Tchatchoua
West Ham United have made a move for versatile Hellas Verona defender Jackson Tchatchoua, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The paper reported in its print edition (July 12, pages 16 & 17) that the Serie A club are asking for around £6.7m for the player, who is also wanted by Everton and played predominantly at right-back last season.
Tchatchoua, a Cameroon international who impressed in the Italian top flight last season, is seen as a perfect fit for the Hammers’ defensive needs and is available for that affordable seven-figure fee.
West Ham and Everton battle for Jackson Tchatchoua
This aggressive move shows the East London club’s intent to further strengthen their squad, especially after completing the signing of Max Kilman from Wolves.
The race between West Ham and Everton for Tchatchoua is getting exciting, and it’s easy to see why both teams want him.
Tchatchoua can play in many positions and was great in Serie A last season. He can be a full-back or a winger, making him a great addition to any Premier League team.
West Ham have jumped in despite Everton looking to be at the front of the queue, showing they really do want to further strengthen their defence.
This comes right after signing Kilman from Wolves, proving they are serious about building a strong team. Everton, facing some money problems, still hope to sign Tchatchoua too.

With his versatility and talent, it’s no surprise there’s such a fight for him. Whoever gets Tchatchoua will be adding a very promising player to their squad.
