West Ham United to finalise Emerson signing over weekend before ‘deal done’- Fabrizio Romano
West Ham are going to finalise the details of a move for Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri over the weekend, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Writing via his personal Twitter account on Friday night (19 August), the Guardian journalist reported that the Hammers are discussing personal terms with the 28-year-old Italy international.
It is understood that the Irons are finally closing in on a permanent agreement with Chelsea for a fee worth £13million plus £2million in add-ons.
Finally
It didn’t look as though this deal was going to go through due to a dispute over personal terms but finally, the Hammers are making progress and we could see Emerson in claret and blue very soon.
He won’t be available to play against Brighton on Sunday and has missed the registration period for the Conference League qualifier against Viborg.
However, there’s a chance he could be involved against Aston Villa next week (28 August) provided he’s signed in time and registered with the Premier League.
West Ham have needed to sort out their left-back area for a long time.

Emerson is a player with a lot of experience in Europe’s top leagues having played for Chelsea, Roma and Lyon.
The Brazil-born Italy international should add some quality to David Moyes’ squad but we’re a bit wary over the fact he’s never really stood out in the Premier League for Chelsea.
He is a versatile player though and while he’s mainly a left-back, he has played on the wing and even the right-hand side of the pitch in his career.
Let’s hope he’s a success though.
